The head of Perm, Eduard Sosnin, signed a protocol of intent with the Chinese city of Zunyi
Previously, the mayor of Zunyi signed a protocol of intent between the cities. It involves the development of joint projects in the field of culture, youth policy, education, sports and economics.
Perm is one of the Russian cities that has seen prospects for intermunicipal cooperation in the eastern direction. China occupies a leading position in the world economy and has a rich history and culture. Therefore, the city authorities are committed to active cooperation with various cities in China.
Thus, the head of Perm, Eduard Sosnin, and the mayor of Zunyi, Huang Wei, signed a protocol of intent between the two cities. It involves the development of joint projects in the field of culture, youth policy, education, sports and economics. Their successful implementation will become the basis for concluding an agreement on the establishment of international and foreign economic relations. It is planned to organize educational, sports and cultural exchanges, meetings and negotiations on issues of local importance.
Thus, interaction with the city of Zunyi in a number of areas has already begun. Previously, the people's government of Zunyi (Guizhou province) in 2023 made a proposal to establish contacts between several of its universities and Perm universities. For example, Perm State Medical University was the first to begin cooperation with the International Medical University of Zunyi. A number of joint projects were implemented, a summer educational program was organized, and a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two higher educational institutions.
A plan for cooperation between the Perm State Institute of Culture and the Zunyi Pedagogical University and the College of Music and Choreography has also been developed. In 2024, Perm colleagues held online meetings with their partners - teachers and students. The Chinese side was invited to take part in significant events: the International Multi-Genre Competition named after Alexander Nemtin and the International Competition of Folk Instrument Performers “Prikamye - 2024”, as well as in the week of student science - the All-Russian Conference “The World of Culture through the Eyes of Young Researchers” and the All-Russian Scientific- practical conference “Dialogues about culture and art”. The interaction of these higher educational institutions will include educational, scientific and creative areas. In addition, Lyceum No. 8 of the city of Perm has established contacts with the school of the Fengang district of the city of Zunyi
